1. About StatYou

StatYou produces custom 3D replica statues from photographs supplied by customers.

Each model is individually prepared, 3D modelled, printed and finished in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Our products are custom-made display pieces rather than mass-produced figurines.

2. Created From Your Photographs

Your statue is created using the photographs and information you provide to us.

The quality and accuracy of the finished model depends heavily on the reference material available.

For the best result, customers should provide:

• Clear photographs of the face
• Front, side and rear views where possible
• Photographs showing hairstyle and hair shape
• Clear photographs of clothing
• Full-body photographs for standing statues
• Multiple photographs taken in good lighting
• Additional close-up photographs where particular details are important

If an area cannot be clearly seen in the photographs, it may need to be interpreted during the modelling process.

StatYou cannot recreate details that are not reasonably visible or identifiable from the photographs supplied.

3. Likeness & Artistic Interpretation

Our aim is to create a recognisable 3D representation of the person, pet or subject shown in your photographs.

However, a custom 3D statue should not be expected to be a perfect physical clone.

Converting photographs into a three-dimensional sculpture requires interpretation, particularly where photographs:

• Were taken at different ages
• Use different camera angles
• Contain shadows or poor lighting
• Hide parts of the face or body
• Show different hairstyles
• Show different clothing
• Have low resolution
• Distort proportions because of the camera lens
• Do not show a particular area at all

Small differences in facial proportions, body proportions, hair, clothing, pose and other details may therefore occur.

These differences do not automatically mean that a product is defective.

4. Your Statue Is FDM 3D Printed

Unless we specifically agree otherwise, StatYou statues are produced using FDM 3D printing.

FDM stands for Fused Deposition Modelling.

The printer creates the statue by depositing many extremely thin layers of material on top of one another until the complete object has been formed.

This manufacturing process is fundamentally different from injection moulding, cast resin or factory-produced collectible figures.

Customers should therefore expect characteristics associated with FDM printing.

5. Layer Lines

FDM printed objects are built layer by layer.

Fine horizontal layer lines may be visible across the surface of your statue, particularly:

• Under strong lighting
• On curved areas
• Around faces
• On clothing
• On large smooth surfaces
• When viewed very closely

Layer lines are a normal characteristic of FDM printing and are not considered a manufacturing fault by themselves.

We use detailed print settings intended to produce a high-quality result, but an FDM print will not have exactly the same surface appearance as an injection-moulded or resin-cast figure.

6. Support Marks & Contact Points

Some parts of a statue cannot be printed unsupported.

Temporary support structures may therefore be printed underneath areas such as:

• Arms
• Hands
• Hair
• Clothing
• Noses
• Chins
• Accessories
• Legs
• Other overhanging sections

These supports are removed during post-processing.

Small marks, texture differences or minor surface imperfections may remain where support material contacted the model.

Where appropriate, these areas may be trimmed, sanded or cleaned before the statue is dispatched.

Minor support marks are a normal part of FDM production.

7. Seams & Print Transitions

FDM printers begin and finish each layer at a particular point.

This can sometimes create a small vertical line or series of marks known as a Z-seam.

You may also occasionally notice very small changes in surface texture where the printer changes direction or moves between different parts of the model.

These are normal characteristics of the printing process.

8. Small Imperfections

Despite careful preparation and quality checking, small imperfections may occasionally be present.

Examples can include:

• Tiny surface marks
• Very small gaps
• Minor stringing
• Slight roughness
• Small sanding marks
• Subtle differences in texture
• Minor seam marks
• Small variations around complex details
• Slight variations between duplicate prints

We inspect every statue before dispatch and will not knowingly send a print containing a significant manufacturing failure.

Extremely small cosmetic characteristics associated with FDM printing are not considered defects.

9. Multi-Part Models

Larger or more complex statues may be divided into several pieces before printing.

This may be required because of:

• The overall size of the statue
• Printer build-volume limitations
• Print quality
• Strength
• Support requirements
• The orientation required for detailed areas

Sections may therefore be printed individually and permanently joined during assembly.

Possible sections can include:

• The head
• Torso
• Arms
• Hands
• Legs
• Base
• Accessories
• Equipment
• Clothing details

Where parts are joined, a very small seam or transition may occasionally remain visible.

We will make reasonable efforts to minimise visible joins during finishing.

10. Bases & Stability

Standing statues may include a base or additional structural support.

We may make reasonable changes to the digital model where necessary to ensure it can physically be printed and displayed safely.

This can include:

• Slightly thickening fragile areas
• Strengthening ankles
• Strengthening fingers
• Connecting very thin objects
• Adjusting contact points
• Modifying a base
• Repositioning a small element
• Joining an accessory to another part of the model

Where possible, these adjustments will be made without materially changing the intended appearance of the statue.

11. Fine Details

There are physical limits to what can be reproduced using FDM printing.

Very small details may need to be simplified, enlarged or strengthened.

Examples include:

• Individual strands of hair
• Eyelashes
• Extremely thin fingers
• Jewellery
• Glasses
• Shoelaces
• Buttons
• Thin straps
• Very small logos
• Embroidery
• Writing
• Chains
• Wires
• Extremely thin accessories

A detail visible in a photograph may therefore not always be physically printable at the scale selected.

StatYou may modify these areas where necessary to make the finished object printable and reasonably durable.

12. Filament Material

Unless otherwise stated on the product page or agreed with you directly, statues are produced using thermoplastic filament suitable for FDM printing.

The exact filament type, brand or formulation may occasionally change depending on availability or production requirements, provided this does not materially change the product ordered.

Where a particular material or finish has been specifically agreed as part of your order, we will use that specification wherever reasonably possible.

13. Marble-Effect Filament

Where a marble-effect finish is selected or advertised, the effect is created by the filament itself.

It is not carved stone or real marble.

Natural-looking speckles and colour distribution occur throughout the material.

The exact positioning and concentration of these particles cannot be controlled.

Two statues printed from exactly the same digital file may therefore show slightly different marble patterns.

This variation is part of the material and is not considered a defect.

14. Colour Variation

Colours displayed on screens are approximate.

The final filament colour may vary slightly from:

• Website photographs
• Rendered images
• Computer screens
• Mobile phone screens
• Previous batches of filament
• Photographs taken under different lighting

Minor colour variations do not normally constitute a fault.

15. Post-Processing

Printed pieces may undergo manual finishing before dispatch.

Depending on the model, this may include:

• Support removal
• Trimming
• Sanding
• Cleaning
• Fitting
• Gluing
• Assembly
• Surface preparation
• Inspection

Because this work is performed manually, small differences between models are normal.

16. Digital Previews

During production we may provide rendered images, screenshots or photographs showing your digital model.

Digital renders are intended to show the shape and design of the model.

They are not photographs of the finished physical print.

The final physical model may look slightly different because of:

• FDM layer lines
• Material properties
• Lighting
• Print orientation
• Support removal
• Assembly
• Physical scale

17. Customer Approval

Where we request approval of a digital model, customers should review it carefully before approving production.

Please check important details including:

• Facial appearance
• Hairstyle
• Clothing
• Pose
• Accessories
• Proportions
• Text or engraving
• Overall design

Once you approve the model, that version may be treated as authorised for production.

Changes requested after approval may not be possible once printing has begun.

If significant additional modelling is requested after an approved design has been completed, additional charges may apply.

Any additional charge will be agreed with you before the extra work is carried out.

18. Reasonable Revisions

Where an approval stage is provided, customers will have an opportunity to identify reasonable issues with the model before production.

Reasonable corrections based on the original photographs may be made before approval.

Completely changing the requested pose, clothing, hairstyle, body, accessories or overall concept after substantial modelling has already been completed may be treated as additional work.

We will tell you before carrying out any additional work that would result in an extra charge.

19. Statue Dimensions

Product sizes described as approximate are not guaranteed to be exact to the millimetre.

The quoted height normally refers to the approximate overall height of the finished statue.

The final dimension may vary slightly because of:

• Pose
• Hairstyle
• Base design
• Printing tolerances
• Model proportions
• Production adjustments

Small dimensional differences are normal.

20. Proportions

Full standing statues are created from the photographic reference supplied.

Where accurate measurements are not provided, body proportions are estimated using the available photographs.

Perspective and camera lenses can significantly change how proportions appear in photographs.

StatYou cannot guarantee exact real-world body measurements unless suitable measurement information has been supplied and specifically agreed as part of the order.

21. Display Item

StatYou statues are designed primarily as decorative display pieces.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, they are:

• Not toys
• Not intended for rough handling
• Not intended for outdoor use
• Not designed as children's play items
• Not intended for food contact

Some statues may contain small or delicate components.

Keep statues and any detached components away from babies and young children.

22. Fragile Areas

Thin parts of a statue can be more fragile than thicker sections.

This can include:

• Fingers
• Hands
• Arms
• Ankles
• Hair
• Accessories
• Glasses
• Clothing details
• Equipment
• Decorative elements

Customers should handle the statue by its strongest areas or by the base wherever possible.

Damage caused after delivery by dropping, crushing, bending, improper handling or accidental impact is not considered a manufacturing defect.

This does not affect your legal rights where the product was faulty when supplied.

23. Heat & Sunlight

3D printed thermoplastics can soften, deform or become damaged when exposed to excessive heat.

Do not leave your statue:

• Next to radiators or heaters
• Near fireplaces
• Inside a hot vehicle
• Against very hot electrical equipment
• In prolonged intense direct sunlight

Damage caused by excessive heat after delivery is not considered a manufacturing defect.

24. Cleaning

We recommend cleaning your statue gently using a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush.

Do not use harsh chemicals, solvents, abrasive cleaning products or excessive water.

Avoid scrubbing delicate areas.

25. Custom-Made Products

StatYou products are made specifically for the individual customer and are personalised using photographs, specifications and information supplied by that customer.

Once work has begun on a personalised order, cancellation may not be possible.

Personalised and custom-made products are generally excluded from the standard consumer change-of-mind cancellation right that applies to many online purchases.

This does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise do not meet the requirements of applicable consumer law.

26. When Work Begins

Work may begin once we have received the information, photographs and payment required to proceed with your order.

Because modelling work is performed specifically for you, costs may already have been incurred before physical printing begins.

27. Prices & Payment

Prices shown on our website or provided in an individual quotation are those applicable at the time of purchase or quotation.

Any optional extras, unusual modifications, additional figures, accessories, complex bases or substantial changes will be agreed with you before additional charges are applied.

Your order will not normally enter full production until the required payment has been received.

28. Incorrect Information

Customers are responsible for checking that the information they provide is correct.

This includes:

• Names
• Dates
• Engraving text
• Measurements
• Clothing requests
• Pose requests
• Delivery details

StatYou cannot accept responsibility for errors reproduced correctly from information supplied by the customer.

29. Production Times

Any production or delivery timeframe we provide is an estimate unless we explicitly confirm a guaranteed date in writing.

Custom modelling and 3D printing can be affected by factors including:

• The complexity of the model
• Customer revision requests
• Delayed customer approval
• Print failures
• Machine maintenance
• Material availability
• Courier delays
• Periods of unusually high demand

If a print fails quality control, we may reprint part or all of the model before dispatch.

30. Delivery

Orders will be sent to the delivery address supplied by the customer.

Customers are responsible for ensuring their delivery information is accurate.

Once an order has been dispatched, delivery may be carried out by a third-party courier or postal provider.

Delivery estimates provided by carriers are outside StatYou's direct control.

31. Damage During Delivery

Please inspect your statue as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If it arrives damaged, please contact us promptly and provide clear photographs showing:

• The damaged statue
• The damaged area close-up
• The external packaging
• The internal packaging
• The shipping label where requested

Please retain all original packaging while the issue is being reviewed.

Where damage occurred before or during delivery, we will assess the appropriate remedy in accordance with your legal rights.

32. Change of Mind

Because StatYou products are personalised and made specifically for individual customers, we generally cannot accept returns simply because a customer changes their mind after production has begun.

This does not limit your statutory rights in relation to faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods.

33. Faulty Products

If you believe your statue contains a genuine manufacturing fault, please contact us with photographs and a description of the issue.

We will review the problem and, where appropriate, offer a suitable remedy.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, reprinting or another remedy available under applicable consumer law.

34. What Is Not Normally Considered a Fault?

The following are normal characteristics of custom FDM printing and do not by themselves normally constitute a defect:

• Visible layer lines
• Small support contact marks
• Minor Z-seams
• Minor sanding marks
• Small surface texture variations
• Minor joins between separately printed parts
• Natural variation in marble-effect filament
• Very small differences between duplicate prints
• Simplification of details that are too small to reproduce reliably
• Reasonable artistic interpretation where reference photographs do not clearly show a particular detail

Nothing in this section removes your statutory consumer rights.

35. Permission to Use Photographs

By sending photographs or other reference materials to StatYou, you confirm that you have the right or appropriate permission to provide those materials to us for the purpose of creating your order.

You grant StatYou permission to use the supplied materials as reasonably necessary to design, manufacture, communicate about and fulfil your order.

36. Third-Party Rights

Customers must not knowingly request products that unlawfully infringe another person's copyright, trademark, image rights or other intellectual property rights.

We reserve the right to refuse an order where we reasonably believe it would be unlawful or inappropriate for us to produce it.

37. Marketing Images

We will not assume that photographs of you or your private photographs can automatically be used publicly for marketing simply because you placed an order.

Where we wish to use identifiable customer photographs, customer stories or identifiable custom work for promotional purposes, we may request permission where appropriate.

38. Digital Model Files

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, purchasing a physical StatYou statue does not automatically include ownership or delivery of the underlying editable 3D model, project files, source files, STL files, sculpting files or production files.

These production files may remain part of StatYou's manufacturing process.

39. Refusing an Order

StatYou reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order where we reasonably believe:

• The requested model cannot be manufactured safely or reliably
• The supplied material may be unlawful
• The request infringes third-party rights
• The customer has supplied misleading or fraudulent information
• The order cannot reasonably be completed as requested

Where we cancel an order before custom work has been completed, any refund due will be handled according to the circumstances of the order and applicable law.

40. Website Images

Photographs and renders displayed on the StatYou website are intended to demonstrate examples of our work.

Because every statue is individually produced, your finished statue will not be identical to examples shown on the website.

41. Limitation of These Terms

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict any legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

If any part of these terms conflicts with mandatory UK consumer law, your statutory rights will take priority.

42. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to our products, manufacturing processes, website or legal requirements.

The terms applicable to an order will normally be those in effect when the order was placed.

43. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
